I want to go to a local video store, open an account and start lending movies. Im not sure if I need a credit card to open an account. Thank you.

I worked for Hollywood Video, and no you do not need a credit card. Only valid for identification. (In the example of a state or a driver's license or passport.)
Unfortunately blockbuster [sp? Activate] still need a credit card, a DVD rental.
